Purpose
These terms set the rules for using the SagCoach app and the service behind it. By creating your account, you accept them, along with the privacy policy.
Who publishes SagCoach
SagCoach is published by Pascal Fabresse, a private individual. Contact: pascal@sagcoach.app. Full details are in the legal notice.
The service
Today, SagCoach lets you:
- save your bikes, with their fork, shock, wheels, tyres and cockpit;
- create several setups per bike, with the history of every change;
- find your gear in a catalogue that prefills the values proven by the manufacturer’s documents;
- export a setup sheet as a wallpaper or a PDF;
- report an error in the catalogue.
Guided SAG measurement and the coach are announced but not available yet. They have no guaranteed release date.
The beta
- The beta is by invitation only, through Apple’s TestFlight. It is free and open only to testers chosen by the publisher.
- During the beta, features may change or disappear. Data may be reset, after a warning.
- Availability is not guaranteed during the beta.
- By joining the beta, you agree to share your feedback (bugs, ideas, wrong values).
Subscription
After the App Store launch, SagCoach is used with an auto-renewable subscription, monthly or yearly, bought in the app through the App Store. A free trial may be offered.
- Before you buy, the app shows the subscription’s name, length, price per period and what it includes, with links to these terms and to the privacy policy.
- Prices are those shown in the App Store at the time of purchase, taxes included.
- Payment is charged to your Apple account when you confirm the purchase, or when the free trial ends if there is one.
- Renewal: the subscription renews automatically for the same length, at the current price, unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. The renewal is charged within the 24 hours before that end.
- Cancelling: in your iPhone’s Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period already paid.
- Price changes follow Apple’s rules. You are told in advance and, where the rules require it, asked to agree before the new price applies.
- Payment, renewal, cancellation and refunds are handled by Apple, under its own terms. The publisher never receives your card details.
Right of withdrawal
As a consumer, you generally have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase made at a distance. For a subscription bought on the App Store, this right is exercised with Apple: ask for a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com, or from your purchase history in your iPhone’s Settings.
Apple handles the request under its terms and the applicable law.
Your account
- You create your account with Apple, Google or Facebook. SagCoach has no password of its own.
- You can link several sign-in methods to the same account, and remove one as long as at least one remains.
- You are responsible for access to your account, and so for the security of the Apple, Google or Facebook account you use.
- An account is personal. Do not share it.
Minimum age
To use SagCoach on your own, you must be 15 or older. This is the age from which you can consent alone to the processing of your data in France. Under 15, signing up requires the agreement of a person with parental authority, who accepts these terms with you.
Safety: read this first
Saved settings, catalogue values and, later, the coach’s suggestions are a setup aid. They are not a mechanical inspection, and SagCoach cannot see your bike.
- Always check values against the manufacturer’s manual for your fork, shock and tyres.
- Never exceed the manufacturer’s limits: maximum pressure, number of tokens, torque values, tyre pressure.
- Maintaining your bike and keeping it safe remain your responsibility. Oil leak, odd noise, pressure loss, play: stop riding and see a qualified mechanic.
- For any work you are not sure about, go to a bike shop.
- Mountain biking is a risky sport. Ride within your level, the terrain and your equipment, and wear a helmet.
When in doubt, the mechanic has the final word, not the app.
The catalogue
Catalogue values come from documents published by manufacturers (manuals, setup guides). Every prefilled value is backed by a quote from its source. Despite this work, mistakes are possible: a source can be wrong, change, or not match your exact model.
If a value looks wrong, tap “Report an error” on the record. Prefilled values stay editable: you decide what setting you save.
Brand and model names (FOX, RockShox, Öhlins and others) belong to their owners and are only used to refer to their products. SagCoach is not affiliated with any manufacturer, and no manufacturer endorses or supports the app.
Your content
Your bikes, setups, bike photo and reports remain yours.
You grant the publisher the right to store them, sync them across your devices and show them to you, free of charge and only to run the service, for as long as your account exists.
Your error reports are used to fix the catalogue. A value corrected thanks to your report may be added to the catalogue for all users, without your name.
You confirm that your content, including your photo, does not infringe anyone else’s rights.
What is not allowed
- Sending reports in bulk, false reports or reports unrelated to the catalogue.
- Uploading content that is illegal, offensive or not yours.
- Trying to access another user’s data or to get around the service’s protections.
- Extracting or copying the catalogue in bulk, with a bot or otherwise.
- Disrupting the service or using it for anything other than setting up your own gear.
Availability
Most of the app works offline. Sync, signing in and deleting your account need a connection. The publisher does its best to keep the service available, but cannot promise it will never be interrupted, especially during the beta, updates or a provider outage.
The service may change: features may be added, changed or removed.
Liability
To the extent allowed by French law, the publisher is not liable for damage resulting from a setting you chose, a value you did not check in the manufacturer’s manual, poor maintenance of your bike, or use of the service against these terms.
This limit never applies to gross negligence or intentional misconduct, nor to bodily injury caused by the publisher’s fault. It does not reduce your consumer rights either, including the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content and services under the French Consumer Code.
Deletion and suspension
You can delete your account at any time in the app: Settings, then “Delete my account”. Your account and all your data are then erased.
In case of abuse or serious breach of these terms, the publisher may suspend or delete an account. Except in an emergency or where the law requires otherwise, you are warned by email first and can explain yourself.
Personal data
What SagCoach stores, where, for how long, and how to export or delete it: it is all in the privacy policy.
Intellectual property
The app, its name, logo, texts, illustrations and the catalogue database belong to the publisher. You may use the app for your own personal use, without copying, modifying, reselling or decompiling it, except where the law allows it.
Apple App Store
If you downloaded SagCoach from the App Store, Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies, except where these terms say otherwise. In addition:
- These terms are between you and the publisher, not Apple. The publisher, not Apple, is responsible for the app and its content.
- Your licence is personal and non-transferable, on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by the App Store Usage Rules.
- Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the app.
- If the app fails to meet an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, which may refund the purchase price. To the extent allowed by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
- Claims about the app (legal compliance, product liability, consumer protection, third-party intellectual property) are handled by the publisher, not Apple.
- You confirm that you are not located in a country under a US government embargo, and not on any US government list of restricted parties.
- You comply with the terms of third-party services you use with the app, such as Apple, Google or Facebook for signing in.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
For any question or claim: pascal@sagcoach.app, or the details in the legal notice.
Changes
These terms may change, for example when a new feature arrives. Before a significant change applies, you are told in the app, with reasonable time to read it. If you disagree, you can delete your account. The date of the last update is at the top of this page.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by French law.
If we disagree, please email pascal@sagcoach.app first, and we will look for an amicable solution together.
If you are a consumer and the disagreement remains after your written complaint, you can use a consumer mediator free of charge.
Failing an agreement, you can go to the competent court. As a consumer, you may choose the court of the place where you lived when the contract was made or when the harmful event occurred, in addition to the courts provided for by the French Code of Civil Procedure (article R631-3 of the French Consumer Code).
The French version of these terms is the reference version.
